About Company: A retail chain startup for basic groceries with strong financial resources which is
going to change the retail market in Nigeria. The Company’s values are honesty, reliability, and responsibility.

Reporting to:        Central Purchasing Officer (CPO)

Targets of the Position:

  1. Develop the categories so that all SKU`s have strong volume and excellent quality.
  2. In order to do so he does everything possible to become an expert of his categories with excellent knowledge of the local as well as international markets.
  3. He works with all departments in collaboration in each subject, in order to get the best results for the company.

Specific powers and Responsibilities:

  1. He negotiates all purchasing conditions like purchasing prices, payment days and other relevant terms & conditions like minimum order quantities.
  2. He suggests items to be added to his category.
  3. He suggests items to drop from his categories.
  4. He decides on additional manufacturers for the production of Private Labels.
  5. He performs quality tests and tastings inside the company for the items in his category, especially before selecting a new time for the assortment.
  6. He clarifies severe quality issues and suggests necessary actions.
  7. He follows up existing contracts with suppliers, and prior to the end of the duration he decides on new contracts.
  8. He informs the regions about important legal information or modifications, new purchasing conditions packaging modifications.
  9. In case of shortages he decides on the volume by region.
  10. He decides which supplier should deliver each region.
  11. He decides on laboratory tests for new and existing products.
  12. He is authorized to sign Purchasing contracts together with the Central Purchasing Officer.
